Thatch is made with four Straw. It can be crafted back into four straw, so it is an efficient method of storage. Thatch is required for making a Hide Bed.
Thatch is one of the earliest and easiest Gravity-less blocks available. This allows you to easily make a roof for your house! The easy harvesting of the block also makes it easier to change down the road when you no longer want a Thatch roof.
Thatch also has a unique property of being able to walk through it. This includes mobs, so it will not stop them from coming in for a visit!
