Sticks are a vanilla item which happen to be an important resource in TFC.
Obtaining
The primary method of gathering sticks is by picking them up as ground items. They can also be obtained by breaking Leaves. Punching leaves will drop a stick some of the time, but using a Scythe makes stick gathering more efficient by destroying a 3x3x3 area of leaf blocks at once, centered at the broken block, but will decrease the drop rate.
Note: If you chop down a tree before harvesting the leaves, the leaves will disappear and will not drop sticks.
Uses
Sticks are essential for crafting various Tools which can be used for harvesting various materials as you progress; the earliest stage of crafting using the sticks include using a method called Knapping. Another use is creating the Firestarter, you can create this item by using 2 sticks diagonally from each other. Once creating a Firestarter, one can make a Firepit by dropping 1 Log and 3 sticks.
Smashing a Log with a Hammer will drop a few sticks.
Sticks can be stored in Bunch of Sticks.
