Obtaining

Steel is a tier 4 metal obtained by working Pig Iron on a tier 3 or higher Anvil In a Blast Furnace Then working the resulting Pig Iron into Steel.

Tools, Weapons and Armor

Steel Tools have a durability of 3300 for most tools (Prospector's Picks have a third of this, at 1100, and Scythes have 50% more at 4950).

Steel Swords do 6.75 base slashing damage, Steel Maces do 8.47 base crushing damage, and Steel Javelins do 5.03 base piercing damage. Steel Shields, Swords, and Maces have 3300 durability, while Javelins have 330.

A full suit of Steel Armor provides 15 armor rating, with durability ranging from 440 base for the Steel Helmet to 640 base for the Steel Chestplate.

Alloying and Smithing

Steel can be welded on an Iron Anvil to make Double Ingots. 7 Double Ingots can be combined in an "I" pattern to make a Steel anvil. Steel anvils allow for Smithing of Steel tools and weapons which will receive bonuses as a player's smithing skill increases. Steel anvils allow for welding of Black Steel double ingots to create a tier 5 anvil.

Steel is used as an alloy in Weak Steel, Weak Blue Steel and Weak Red Steel.
